Five die in market rocket attack
A rocket slammed into a busy market in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul today, killing at least five civilians.
Seven civilians were also wounded in the lunchtime attack in Mosul, 225 miles north-west of Baghdad, said US army Captain Angela Bowman.
It was not known who fired the rocket. No other details were immediately available.
Six mortar rounds were fired at the headquarters of the Polish-led multinational force in Iraq today but their were no injuries, a military spokesman said.
It followed an mortar bomb attack on another Polish base in Karbala last night. However, they missed their target and caused no injuries.
