European Commission to announce new line-up

The president-elect of the European Commission was today expected to announce his new line-up for the European Union head office for the next five years.

The commission said Jose Manuel Barroso, chosen by EU leaders to take over the Brussels bureaucracy this autumn, would hold a news conference this afternoon.
