Police given more time to quiz terror suspects

British police were tonight given more time to question nine men arrested in anti-terror raids last week, Scotland Yard said.

Detectives were granted an extension by magistrates until Tuesday to question the suspects, who are being held at Paddington Green Police Station in central London.

The nine were among the 13 men arrested by police in nationwide anti-terror raids last Tuesday.

Of the other four, two were released last week while police said earlier today that another two were no longer being questioned on suspicion of terrorism offences.
