20 million will need food after flooding
Bangladesh, suffering its worst flooding in six years, will need food aid for 20 million people over the next five months, the country’s disaster minister said in Dhaka.
One-seventh of the population will need food assistance because they have lost crops and jobs in the monsoon rains and flooding that have covered 60% of the nation of 140 million since June, said Food and Disaster Management Minister Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusouf.
