Pakistan's next premier escapes suicide attack

Pakistan’s prime minister in waiting Shaukat Aziz survived an suicide attack on his motorcade today, police said.

The attack occurred in the evening as Aziz, the finance minister, was travelling through a bazaar in Fateh Jang, 35 miles from the capital, Islamabad, said police official Mohammed Haidar.

Haidar said Aziz’s driver was killed, but the senior politician escaped.

Geo television reported two people killed.
