Former binman Mark Hobson was remanded in custody by magistrates today charged with murdering twin sisters and an elderly couple.

Former binman Mark Hobson was remanded in custody by magistrates today charged with murdering twin sisters and an elderly couple.

Hobson, 34, appeared for a brief hearing accused of killing 27-year-old sisters Claire and Diana Sanderson and pensioners James and Joan Britton in Yorkshire.

Hobson said nothing during the five minute hearing but acknowledged his name, age and address with a nod of the head.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Leeds Crown Court on August 6.
