Prosecutors in Zimbabwe today dropped firearms charges against three of 70 suspected mercenaries who are accused of plotting a coup in Equatorial Guinea.

Magistrate Mishrod Guvamombe, presiding over the brief hearing at a makeshift court in Harare’s Chikurubi maximum security prison, then adjourned the case until August 18 to allow the prosecution more time for preparations.
