UN staff were among six people killed today when a bomb exploded in a mosque where Afghans were registering for forthcoming elections today.

UN staff were among six people killed today when a bomb exploded in a mosque where Afghans were registering for forthcoming elections today.

Four of the dead were local Afghan nationals, said the US military.

The nationality of the UN workers was not immediately clear.

Two other UN staff were seriously injured.

The military said the mosque was located in Afghanistan’s south-eastern Ghazni province and that the bomb exploded as registration was going on. It gave no further details.
