25 Iraqi insurgents killed in battle

US marines killed 25 Iraqi insurgents and detained 25 others in fierce fighting in Ramadi that also injured 13 marines and one soldier, the military said today.

The marines said in a statement that the day-long clashes yesterday began after insurgents detonated a roadside bomb near a marine convoy in an ambush attempt.
