30 die in bus crash

A speeding bus overturned and fell into a roadside ditch in eastern India today, killing at least 30 passengers and injuring several others.

It was feared the death toll could rise once rescuers finished clearing bodies from the wreckage in English Bazar town in West Bengal state, said Tarak Pal, the town’s police chief.
