Mosul governor assassinated

Insurgents assassinated the governor of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul today as his convoy was travelling to the capital, Baghdad, an Interior Ministry official said.

Attackers approached the convoy of Youssef Kashmola about 60 miles south of Mosul and apparently threw a hand grenade.
