West Bank barrier ruled illegal by court

The International Court of Justice has found the Israeli barrier in the West Bank to be illegal, and demanded Israel dismantle the structure and compensate Palestinians for confiscated land, an Israeli newspaper reported today.

The court, the highest judicial arm of the United Nations, was due to deliver its ruling on the barrier later today, in what was expected to be a long and complex legal opinion.
