EU moves to end air passengers deal with US

The newly-elected European Parliament launched itself with a bang this afternoon – taking EU governments to court over air passenger privacy rights.

Even before the first session of the new five-year intake in Strasbourg, MEPs are locked in battle over an EU accord to hand over full transatlantic passenger details to US security agencies as part of the anti-terrorism campaign.
