Britain's Deputy Prime minister John Prescott arrived in Delhi today for talks with India’s new leaders aimed at enhancing the strong ties between the two countries, the British High Commission said.

Britain's Deputy Prime minister John Prescott arrived in Delhi today for talks with India’s new leaders aimed at enhancing the strong ties between the two countries, the British High Commission said.

He will deliver a message from Tony Blair to new Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday, the Commission said.

“I hope to have friendly and productive discussions, covering a range of bilateral, regional and international issues with Dr Singh and his colleagues in the new government,” Mr Prescott said after arriving in the Indian capital.

He will also meet External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh and the leader of the opposition, LK Advani.
