Gunmen carry out fresh Saudi ambush

Gunmen opened fire today on a car carrying at least one US national outside a compound in the Saudi capital of Riyadh that is used by members of the US military, a security official said.

“The car was coming out of the compound with three passengers when small arms fire opened up on the vehicle,” an unidentified security official said.

The passengers were not believed to have been injured.

The attack took place at the Iskan compound, on the southern outskirts of Riyadh, where some US military advisers to the Saudi National Guard live.
