British Prime Minister Tony Blair today insisted that the transfer of sovereignty in Iraq would go ahead as planned, despite the killing of the head of the country’s governing council.

Abdel-Zahraa Othman, also known as Izzadine Saleem, was among at least four Iraqis killed when a car bomb exploded by a queue of vehicles waiting to enter coalition headquarters in Baghdad.
