Jogger impaled on spike in fall

A 30-year-old jogger is recovering in hospital today after impaling herself on a 3ft spike in a fall, a fire service spokesman said.

The woman, who stopped breathing, had to be resuscitated by firefighters who were first on the scene in Emsworth, Hampshire, UK after the alarm was raised by her jogging partner at about 7.50pm on Sunday.
