Al-Fayed gave money to machete battle school
Harrods tycoon Mohammed al Fayed donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to an Islamic school where 11 pupils died in a bloody confrontation between machete-wielding militants and Thai security forces, its headmaster said today.
The school is considered a model of religious moderation, and students and staff say they are shocked at the involvement of former and current students in the April 28 attacks on police and army posts in southern Thailand.
