US wants outlaw cleric for murder
A radical Iraqi cleric was branded an “outlaw” today and the US announced a warrant for his arrest, heightening a confrontation after his supporters clashed with coalition troops in battles that killed more than 60 people.
Officials would not say when they would move to arrest firebrand Muqtada al-Sadr for murder, a move that could potentially spark further clashes with his supporters who have taken Iraq to the brink of anarchy.
