Rapper pushed woman's head into table

Rapper Busta Rhymes has been given six months’ probation for pushing a woman’s head into a table during a concert.

Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, pleaded no contest to assault in Fall River, Massachusetts. He was also ordered to pay $295 (€240) in court costs.

The rapper was performing a late-night gig in Fall River in December 2002 when Celine Giguere, of Providence, Rhode Island, reached out and touched his chin.

In a statement read in court, Rhymes said that when he saw Giguere reach for his face a second time, he grabbed her hand and said: “Please make sure you do not touch me again.”

According to a police report, the rapper grabbed Giguere, shoved her head into a table and said: “If you try touching me again, I’ll kill you.”

Rhymes has also filed an assault complaint against Giguere and she is also due to appear in court.
