Berlin’s Tegel airport was temporarily evacuated today, after an anonymous caller said a bomb had been planted there, police said.

Security authorities cleared the airport’s main hall after receiving the bomb threat at about 2pm (1pm Irish time), a spokesman for Berlin police said.

About 40 minutes later passengers were allowed back in to the airport, in the west of the city, after it was determined the threat was not credible, the spokesman said.
