Man 'fed to lions' after row
A farm worker was beaten and then killed by being thrown into a lion enclosure, it was claimed in Cape Town, South Africa, today.
Nelson Shisane was allegedly assaulted and then ātossed over a fenceā into a park where lions are bred after a dispute with his employer at the Engedi Game Farm.
The employer, Mark Scott Crossley, and three co-workers, Simon Mathebula, Richard Mathebula and Robert Mnisi have been arrested and charged with murder.
They were denied bail and are scheduled to appear in court on February 19.
Police officers found bones, torn clothes and a skull in the lion enclosure about nine miles from Shisaneās former workplace.
Labour Ministry spokesman Snuki Zikalala said investigators were trying to establish Shisaneās working conditions. He said it was believed Shisane was fired last year.
The spokesman said the investigation began after Shisaneās family reported him missing last Sunday.
