Saudi forces killed in battle with terror suspects
Saudi Arabian forces captured a suspected terrorist after a gun battle around a house in the capital, Riyadh, today.
Several Saudi security agents were killed, an Interior Ministry official said.
He said the security forces had received a tip about the house in eastern Riyadh and when they arrived they came under fire.
The Saudis have been carrying out numerous anti-terrorism raids in the kingdom in recent months, particularly since bombings last year that targeted housing compounds for foreigners.
Saudi and US officials have blamed Saudi exile Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida terror network.
Since those blasts, authorities have detained hundreds of people in the crackdown on alleged militants and have urged wanted persons to surrender.
