Afghans killed in car bomb blast
Six members of the Afghan military were killed today when a bomb ripped apart their car in the capital Kabul.
Police quickly cordoned off the road near Kabul airport, where fire crews doused the burning wreckage. Pieces of twisted metal and body parts littered the road.
Mohammed Ayub Salangi, a Kabul military commander, said: “All six belonged to the military, but we don’t know which unit yet.”
He blamed Taliban and al Qaida militants for the attack, but provided no evidence to support that.
