A suicide bomber killed eight Iraqi policemen in an attack on a station in Baghdad’s northern outskirts today, their commander said.

Lt Col Ali Amer said 10 officers were injured in the blast.

Earlier today, four officers were wounded when a car bomb exploded in the western Ameriyah neighbourhood.

The attacks came less than a day after US officials announced the capture of Iraq’s former leader Saddam Hussein.
