At least 20 people were injured in a bomb, which exploded in a bazaar in Kandahar in Afghanistan today.

At least , at least three of them seriously, officials later said. The bomb is believed to have been attached to a bicycle.

Two shops were completely demolished. Broken glass and victim’s blood lay around the scene, which was quickly sealed off by US troops and Afghan police.

“Taliban and al-Qaida carried out this terrorist attack. We are trying to catch those responsible,” city police chief Mohammad Hashim told reporters.

Hashim said three people were seriously injured. ANSO, an independent body that advises aid organisations on security in Afghanistan, put the figure at seven.
