Pakistan ceasefire in Kashmir dispute
Pakistan’s prime minister today announced a cease-fire by forces on the Line of Control that divides the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir, where fire is routinely exchanged with India.
In an address marking his first year in office, Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali said Pakistan’s army had been ordered to stop firing from the Islamic holiday of Eid-al-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
