Israel to reject Hamas olive branch

Hamas is signalling it would stop attacks on Israelis in exchange for a halt of Israel’s military strikes, a senior Palestinian Authority official said today.

Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin delivered the message recently in a meeting with Zakaria al-Agha, an envoy sent by Yasser Arafat, said the Palestinian official. Al-Agha is an official in Arafat’s Fatah group.
