US Army sergeant William von Zehle has told of his battle to save top UN envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello, after a bomb attack on the UN headquarters in Iraq.

Von Zehle was within arm’s length of the envoy, who was trapped upside down in the rubble of the collapsed United Nations headquarters in Baghdad.
