22 dead in Jerusalem, Gaza attacks

At least 15 people are now believed dead in the Jerusalem bus blast, with a further seven thought dead in the Israeli strike in Gaza City.

Two Hamas militants – Tito Massoud, 35, and Soffil Abu Nahez, 29 – were killed along with five other people in today’s Gaza City air strike, witnesses and doctors said.

Two bodies were seen being carried from the burning car, one of them decapitated.

Massoud Ramadan, 65, who was wounded in the attack, said that after the missiles hit the car, crowds gathered to try to help the casualties, “another missile attack took place,” causing more casualties.

Ramadan said he was hurt in the second attack. He said he felt something hit him from behind, and “when I put my hand there I had blood all over my hand.”

Israeli helicopter fired missiles at a car in Gaza City, targeting a senior Hamas militant, Israel TV reported.

It was the second such assassination attempt in as many days. The TV report said the target of today’s air strike was Tito Massoud, who it described as a commander of the Hamas military wing.
