Bush honours Cuban dissidents

US president George Bush was observing today what the United States considers Cuban independence day by meeting Cuban dissidents and former political prisoners at the White House.

May 20 is the anniversary of the founding of the Cuban republic in 1902, following the Spanish-American War.
