Relieved British passengers arrived home from Kenya today after the British government grounded all UK flights to and from the east African state, warning of an imminent terrorist threat.

The passengers arrived at 4.51am at Heathrow airport on the last British flight to leave Kenya until further notice.

The dramatic government order, which was followed by Foreign Office advice against non-essential travel to the country, came amid fears of an al-Qaida attack on a British jet.
