Search continues for seven-year-old boy
The father of a missing seven-year-old boy said today he was exhausted after searching for his son all through the night.
David Entwistle, 41, from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK said he wandered the streets of the town with his brother-in-law in the hope of finding the boy.
The railway maintenance worker said: “We have been looking all night and I have had no sleep for 36 hours now.
“We have been looking where his bike was and round here.
“Daniel’s mum Paula stayed inside with her father Keith.
“We’ve just been looking round anywhere and everywhere.”
Residents on the Barrack estate, where the family live, have put posters with a picture of Daniel and an appeal for information in their windows.
Two thousand posters printed by a local newspaper have been distributed through the town.
A resident of the family’s street, Copperfield Avenue, who gave her name only as Margaret, said she had seen Daniel on the day he disappeared.
Margaret, 63, said: “The day he disappeared he was in my garden early in the afternoon.
“We have tents out the back and he used to love watching the fish in the pond, and I have a chicken out there and he used to like coming to have a look at it.
“We knew him quite well. It’s such a shame, bless him.
“The night he went missing everyone on the street was out looking. It was marvellous, everyone came out of their houses, they didn’t hesitate.”
Police diving teams were continuing to search the River Yare close to the spot where Daniel’s bicycle was found abandoned.
The Norfolk Police helicopter continued to fly over the town.
