Secret documents discovered in Baghdad are evidence of a direct link between Saddam Hussein’s regime and Osama bin Laden’s al Qaida terrorist network, according to a report today.

The papers were found in the bombed headquarters of Iraq’s intelligence service, Mukhabarat, and revealed preparations for the visit of an al Qaida envoy to Iraq in March 1998, said The Sunday Telegraph.
