Russia: outcome of war 'far from certain'

Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov today warned a US victory in Iraq was “far from certain,” and said the campaign was prompting Moscow to strengthen its own armed forces.

He told the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper the Russian military was closely following the war and added that the Iraqis were still capable of mounting strong opposition.
