Saddam party official captured

A member of Saddam Hussein’s ruling Baath Party was captured by British forces in a raid at Al Zubayr last night.

The raid was carried out by members of the 7th Armoured Brigade.

British military chiefs want to separate political and military leaders of the regime.

A military source said today: “A raid was carried out last night by a patrol after they located a member of the Baath Party in a town.”
