Aziz appears on TV to disprove defection report

Tariq Aziz has appeared on Iraqi TV today to prove he had not defected.

Clutching a large cigar, Aziz held a press conference in Baghdad.

Iraqi Kurds claimed today that Saddam Hussein’s urbane mouthpiece had defected and was in the region they control in northern Iraq.
