Turkey prepares to accept US troops for Iraq war

Turkey’s top politician warned MPs today that the chances for war were increasing and suggested that if parliament did not back the US, the country risked losing a say in the future of neighbouring Iraq.

The statement by Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared to be a move to prepare MPs for a possible Friday vote on basing US troops in Turkey for an Iraq invasion.
