Safra killer escapes from jail

An American male nurse convicted starting a fire that killed billionaire banker Edmond Safra has escaped from prison in Monaco.

Ted Maher, originally from Maine, escaped overnight, police said.

He was convicted of starting the fire in Monaco that also killed one of Safra’s other nurses, Vivian Torrente.
