India has test-fired an Akash surface-to-air missile for the second time in three days.

The weapon was fired from a base at Chandipur. It has a range of 15 miles and can carry a 110lbs payload.

India says the launches are routine, but Pakistan has objected, saying it does not want an arms race.

Pakistani information minister Sheikh Ahmed Rashid said: "This reflects India's obsession with war. We will not be intimidated no matter how many tests India conducts.

"We do not want to join the arms race. But we know how to defend Pakistan."
