US links ricin 'to Iraqi terror group'

The US has indications that the men arrested in Britain with traces of the poison ricin are linked to a terrorist group in northern Iraq, a senior official said today.

But he refused to elaborate on evidence linking the men to Ansar al-Islam, a group which other officials have said is linked both to al-Qaida and possibly to Saddam Hussein’s government in Iraq.
