Washington's first baby of 2003 has two mothers

Everything about the birth of Washington’s first baby came with the usual joys: her first sweet cries, proud parents and hospital staff who declared her adorable, perfect and brilliant.

But the five pound, two ounce, baby arrived one minute after midnight on Wednesday with an additional distinction – she was born to two mothers.
