Pope urges Christians to be courageous

The Pope, saying that many believers, like the Christian martyrs of centuries ago, still suffer for their beliefs, today urged the faithful to be courageous in answering their Christian calling.

John Paul, addressing a crowd of tourists in St Peter’s Square, made no mention of the Christmas Day grenade attack on a Protestant church in Pakistan in which three girls were killed and 13 people wounded.
