Dando killer fails in Lords appeal bid
Barry George, the man jailed for life for the murder of TV presenter Jill Dando, has failed in his latest bid for freedom.
The House of Lords has refused permission for George, 42, to mount a further challenge to his conviction.
He lost an appeal against conviction at the Court of Appeal in July.
The Court of Appeal also refused his lawyers permission to take the case to the Lords on a point of law.
George's lawyers applied directly to a committee of Law Lords for permission but that has now been refused.
The publication of the ruling does not give reasons for the refusal of permission to challenge the Court of Appeal's decision to uphold the murder conviction.
