In a sign of easing tensions with neighbouring India, Pakistan said today it had moved troops back from certain areas on the border in response to similar moves by Indian forces.

In a sign of easing tensions with neighbouring India, Pakistan said today it had moved troops back from certain areas on the border in response to similar moves by Indian forces.

“The fact is that we have moved troops from those areas where India no longer poses a threat to us,” said General Rashid Quereshi, Pakistan’s military spokesman.
