Overthrown Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar is alive somewhere near the Pakistani border but prospects of arresting him remain slim, Afghan President Hamid Karzai said today.

Karzai, speaking in the Qatar capital of Doha, said some members of the ousted regime were still in Afghanistan. He described them as terrorists and said arresting them is difficult.
