US denies soldiers killed

The US military's Central Command has denied a television report that seven of its soldiers had been killed and 14 injured in an ambush in eastern Afghanistan.

"It is not true. We have had no such ambush or incident," Navy Petty Officer Anthony Dallas, a spokesman for the Central Command in Tampa, Florida.
