Man puts puppy in microwave
A Georgia man allegedly put his estranged girlfriend's puppy in a microwave and cooked it until it yelped.
A Sheriff's Department spokesman says he then took it out, stabbed it, and put it back in the oven, before threatening to do the same to her.
The 41-year-old from Snellville is to be charged with animal cruelty, burglary and battery. He could face up to five years in jail for each charge.
The Rottweiler called Pegasus has been treated and returned to its owner.
Sergeant Bob Rapien told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: "He microwaved [the puppy] for 10 to 15 seconds until it yelped. Then he took it out, stabbed it and put it back in. He told the girl he'd do the same to her."
The most dangerous injuries from microwaving would be to the dog's brain, said Jeff Morgan, a vet at Gwinnett Animal Clinic in Lawrenceville.
