64 foreigners denied tournament entry

A total of 64 foreigners were denied entry to Japan during the World Cup, police in Tokyo said.

Of the 64 foreigners denied entry, 51 were English. 17 of the English were on a special hooligan list, officers said.

The others were refused entry due to drug records, or on suspicion of being ticket touts.

Foreign police forces gave co-hosts Japan and South Korea lists of known hooligans ahead of the competition, which ends on Sunday.
