Five injured in Spanish car bomb blast

Five people were hurt, one seriously, by a car bomb that exploded today in a southern Spanish resort, local media said.

But other reports quoted police as saying there were no injuries.

The attack was blamed on the Basque separatist group ETA.

The explosion occurred near the hotel Piramides in Fuengirola, near Malaga. The area is popular with tourists.

The explosion came hours before European Union leaders were to start a two-day summit in Seville.
